Wet on Wet
In this technique the paint is applied on top of another layer of wet paint. Often the paint is applied in layers of opaque or semi-opaque color, so that some of the low colors are displayed, adding richness and depth.
The wet on wet technique is an ideal technique to embrace the nature of oil paints. Its fluid texture, which is bright and rich, allows you to make thick brush strokes, which can be scattered and layered with great satisfaction.
The challenge with this technique is to be decisive about composition, tone, color palette, paint handling and marking before and during the painting process.
